The not so known or spoken about health issues, such as, vaginal dryness, light bladder leakage and dry skin (all over our bodies), during the perimenopause transition into menopause is where I'm focusing on this month for my blog topic.

What is Hashimoto's Disease?
Hashimoto’s Disease isn’t a problem of your thyroid like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism or thyroiditis. It’s actually a problem of the immune system and is an autoimmune disease. This is where your immune system is attacking your thyroid, causing it to under produce its hormones and slowing down all of your metabolic processes. Hashimoto's Disease affects mostly women and is a very common autoimmune disease and has symptoms very similar to those experienced in perimenopause. -

What is Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)?
Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition that affects up to 1 in 10 girls and women in their reproductive years. PCOS is an endocrine disorder. There are four types of PCOS - Insulin Resistance, Post Pill PCOS, Inflammatory PCOS and Androgen PCOS. If you have symptoms of PCOS and it's not PCOS this can be due to Hypothalamic Amenorrhoea due to undereating.
