Katrina Froome Naturopathy - FAQs

🌿 About Consultations
What happens in an initial naturopathic consultation?
Your first consultation is a supportive space to talk through your health story in detail — including symptoms, history, digestion, hormones, sleep, stress load, lifestyle and any previous testing. Together, we begin to understand what your body may be communicating, and outline a personalised care plan tailored to your goals and pace.
Do you see men as well as women?
Yes. While my work focuses strongly on women’s health and nervous-system support, I also see men and older teens on a case-by-case basis.
Do you see children?
Yes — I offer gentle, family-centred naturopathic support for children and teens experiencing digestive concerns, immune challenges, anxiety, sleep changes and general imbalance.
Do you offer online appointments?
Yes. Online consultations are available Australia-wide and internationally, and work beautifully for many people.
Appointment Length & Fees
How long are appointments and what do they cost?
Initial consultations are longer so we have time to understand your health history fully:
-
Initial Consultation — $195 (60 minutes)
-
Extended Initial Consultation — $225 (90 minutes)
(recommended for complex health histories)
Ongoing support:
-
Report of Findings Consultation — $150 (60 minutes)
(review of test results and tailored treatment plan) -
Follow-up Consultation — $125 (45 minutes)
(progress reviews & ongoing support) -
Mini Consultation — $95 (30 minutes)
(brief check-ins, script or treatment review)
Fees reflect consultation time, case review, clinical preparation and ongoing care outside the appointment time.
What’s included in my consultation fee?
Your fee includes much more than the time we spend together. It also covers case analysis, clinical research, treatment planning, referral or pathology review and detailed record-keeping — ensuring continuity and quality of care throughout your journey.
🌿 Testing & Treatment
Do you recommend functional testing?
Often, yes. Testing such as Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) or microbiome testing may be recommended to help understand underlying drivers of symptoms. Testing is always optional and discussed with you before proceeding.
Do I have to do testing?
No. Testing is helpful — but it’s always optional. We’ll always consider your preferences, priorities and budget.
Functional testing can point us clearly in the right direction from the beginning, which may help us achieve results more efficiently and avoid guesswork. For some people, this means less trial-and-error, faster clarity and potentially saving money in the long run.
But the choice is always yours, and many women prefer to start with symptom-based care first — which is perfectly okay
Do you work alongside GPs and specialists?
Absolutely. I value collaborative care and am happy to support any medical treatment or referrals you may already have in place.
Do you prescribe strict diets?
Most of the time — no. My approach to nutrition is gentle and realistic, with a focus on nourishment rather than restriction.
During SIBO or microbiome treatment, a more structured diet may sometimes be used for a short period (around 3–4 months) to reduce symptoms and support healing. You’re fully supported through this process with recipes, guidance and a compassionate, flexible approach — and once things stabilise, we gradually re-expand your food choices.
Will I need to take lots of supplements?
No — I prefer simple, targeted prescribing. When supplements are recommended, they are practitioner-therapeutic or high-quality products chosen specifically to support your individual needs. These are used thoughtfully — not excessively — and are reviewed regularly.
As your health improves, your prescription is usually reduced or simplified over time, so you’re taking only what is genuinely supportive.
🌿 Areas of Support
What conditions do you support?
I work with:
- women who feel overwhelmed, anxious or burnt out
- women navigating perimenopause, menopause or hormonal change
- those experiencing digestive symptoms such as IBS, SIBO, bloating or constipation
- people struggling with sleep issues or long-term fatigue
- individuals with mineral imbalance, thyroid concerns or nervous-system sensitivity
- women who are using medically prescribed weight-loss medications and want holistic support alongside this
- those recovering from illness or post-viral exhaustion who haven’t felt the same since
- children needing support with digestion, immunity, sleep, skin issues, mood or general wellbeing
- men seeking compassionate support for stress, gut health, fatigue or energy balance
- anyone who values a calm, collaborative and holistic approach to their health
If you’ve been feeling unwell, unheard or unsure where to turn next — you’re warmly welcome here.
Do you support perimenopause and menopause?
Yes — this is a strong area of focus in my clinic.
Do you work with women who are using weight-loss medications?
Yes — I regularly support women who are currently using medically prescribed weight-loss medications.
Many women find that while these medicines can be helpful, they may also notice changes in digestion, appetite, nutrient intake, bowel habits, sleep, hormones or energy levels. In our consultations, we focus gently on gut health, mineral balance, nervous-system support, liver function and long-term nourishment to help your body feel as stable and supported as possible.
I do not prescribe or manage these medications — instead, I work alongside your GP or specialist so your care remains collaborative and medically supervised. There is never any judgement about your choices — my role is simply to support your health holistically while you’re on your journey.
Do you support post-viral fatigue or long-term exhaustion after illness or immune activation?
Yes — I commonly see people experiencing longer-term fatigue, nervous-system sensitivity, sleep disturbance, digestive changes or hormonal shifts following illness or immune-related stressors.
Rather than focusing on a single cause, we gently explore how the immune system, gut health, minerals, hormones and stress response may have been affected — and support the body gradually back toward steadier energy and resilience.
My approach is calm, nourishing and restorative — never pushing the body beyond its capacity. Where needed, I can also work together with your GP or specialist to ensure you are fully supported.
Do you help with anxiety and burnout?
Yes. My work acknowledges the close relationship between the nervous system, digestion, hormones and emotional wellbeing.
🌿 Practical Details
Do you accept private health or Medicare?
From 1 April 2026, some private health funds may offer rebates depending on your level of cover. Medicare does not currently rebate naturopathic consultations in Australia.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Any recent test results, medication or supplement lists and key health history details are helpful — but don’t worry if you don’t have everything available.
Where are you located?
I offer in-clinic consultations in Springfield Lakes and Highfields (Toowoomba), as well as online consultations for clients across Brisbane, Ipswich, Queensland and Australia-wide.
Do you work internationally?
Yes — online consultations are available for overseas clients (time-zone dependent).
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice so your appointment time may be offered to someone else. Late cancellations and missed appointments will incur a fee.
If you have a question that isn’t answered here, you’re always welcome to reach out. I’m happy to help you decide whether naturopathic care feels like the right next step for you or your family.
🌿 Body Balance Treatments — FAQ
What are Body Balance Treatments?
Body Balance Treatments are gentle, energy-based sessions designed to calm the nervous system and support emotional and physical regulation. These sessions may include elements of energy healing, muscle testing, body-awareness techniques and guided relaxation — helping the body shift out of stress, overwhelm or depletion.
Who are Body Balance Treatments suitable for?
These treatments may be especially supportive for women experiencing stress, anxiety, emotional heaviness, nervous-system fatigue, burnout or sleep disruption — or for anyone seeking a calmer, more grounded sense of wellbeing.
Do Body Balance Treatments replace naturopathic care?
No. They are a supportive therapy that can sit alongside naturopathic care — or be received on their own. Many people choose Body Balance Treatments as a nurturing reset between consultations, or as part of their ongoing nervous-system support.
What happens during a session?
Sessions are calm, quiet and deeply restorative. You remain fully clothed and comfortably supported throughout. Many people describe feeling lighter, clearer, more centred and deeply relaxed afterwards.
Do I need to believe in energy healing for it to help?
Not at all. These treatments are offered from a grounded, compassionate space, with the intention of supporting nervous-system regulation and emotional wellbeing.
Can children receive Body Balance Treatments?
Yes — sessions can be adapted for children and teens where appropriate, with a parent present.
Are online Body Balance Treatments available?
These sessions are offered primarily in-clinic. If you are interested in remote care, please contact me to discuss suitability.
How do I know if a Body Balance Treatment is right for me?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally fatigued, stressed or unable to fully “switch off” — and you are looking for a gentle, nurturing way to reconnect with calm — Body Balance Treatments may be a beautiful addition to your wellbeing journey.
Where can I book?
Appointments are available in Springfield Lakes and Highfields (Toowoomba). Booking can be made online or by contacting the clinic.
