      Women’s Health & Hormonal Support

So many women are told that fatigue, mood changes, anxiety, PMS, perimenopause symptoms, digestive issues or “not feeling like yourself” are simply part of life. In my clinic, your symptoms are listened to with care — because they are your body’s way of communicating that something may need support.

I work gently and holistically with women experiencing hormonal change, perimenopause and menopause, cycle irregularities, thyroid concerns, anxiety, burnout, sleep disruption, digestive imbalance and mineral depletion — always with a focus on calming the nervous system and restoring balance.

Together, we’ll explore your health story, your lifestyle, your stress load and your environment — so we can understand the deeper patterns at play rather than just chasing symptoms. From there, we create a personalised plan that feels realistic, compassionate and supportive.

      A Whole-Body Approach

Women’s health isn’t just about hormones — it’s shaped by nervous system health, mineral patterns, microbiome balance, inflammation, stress load and lived experience.

      Support includes:

      • Gentle, thorough case-taking

      • Nutrition & naturopathic care

      • Nervous system support strategies

      • Herbal medicine where appropriate

      • Functional testing such as HTMA & microbiome testing

      • Collaboration with your GP or specialists when needed

No extreme programs. No pressure. Just thoughtful, compassionate care.

      Testing

In many cases, I do recommend functional testing such as HTMA or microbiome testing to help us better understand what your body needs. Testing is discussed with you during your initial consultation so you can make an informed decision, and we only choose tests that are genuinely useful for your individual situation.

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) for Women’s Health

Minerals are essential for hormone balance, thyroid function, nervous-system regulation, metabolism and energy production. When they become depleted — or thrown out of balance — symptoms such as anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, irregular cycles, thyroid changes, skin flare-ups or burnout can begin to show.

This is where Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) can be so helpful.

      What can HTMA reveal?

HTMA looks at the mineral and heavy-metal patterns stored in the hair over time — helping us understand deeper trends that blood tests may not always capture, such as:

      • mineral depletion
      • stress-related mineral imbalance
      • slow or fast metabolic patterns
      • thyroid-related mineral shifts
      • nervous-system stress load
      • heavy-metal exposure trends

HTMA can be especially helpful for women experiencing:

      •  anxiety or nervous-system overwhelm
      • insomnia or restless sleep
      • fatigue or burnout
      • thyroid imbalance
      • perimenopause changes
      • skin conditions
      • low mood
      • hormone symptoms
      • slow or altered metabolism

Rather than guessing, we gain a clearer picture of what your body may need in order to rebalance gently.

      Microbiome Testing in Women’s Health

Your gut microbiome plays a powerful role in hormones, mood, immune health and inflammation. For many women, microbiome testing can help guide care when there are symptoms such as:

      • constipation or slow bowels
      • diarrhoea or loose bowels
      • persistent bloating
      • food sensitivities or reactions
      • skin issues
      • post-infectious symptoms - parasites, bacterial or viral infections
      • anxiety or nervous-system overload
      • inflammatory or “leaky gut”-type patterns

This type of testing can help identify microbial imbalance, methane-producing organisms, digestive weakness, stress-related gut changes and inflammation markers — all of which can influence hormone balance, mood stability and energy.

Rather than guessing, we gain clarity so your care can be calm and targeted.

      Mini FAQ (Women’s Health)

Do I need a diagnosis first?

No — you’re welcome exactly as you are. Many women come to see me because they aren't getting the answers to their questions or relief from their symptoms, or their symptoms have increased. Together we explore the underlying patterns.

      Do you only see women?

I primarily support women, and I also work with men and older teens on a case-by-case basis.

Do I have to do testing?

      Not at all.

Functional testing — such as HTMA, microbiome analysis or hormone testing — can provide helpful insight into what your body needs. However, some women prefer to begin with symptom-based care first, and that is perfectly okay. Your comfort, budget and preferences are always respected.

Can I continue working with my GP or specialist?

Yes — I’m very happy to support your existing medical care as part of a team-based approach.

Do you support perimenopause and menopause?

Yes — this is a key area of focus in my clinic. I support women who are experiencing a wide range of physical and emotional changes during the natural transition into menopause and beyond.

Together, we look at hormones, gut health, mineral balance, sleep, mood and nervous-system support — with a calm, compassionate approach designed to help you feel more steady, clear and supported during this stage of life.

Do you work with women who are using weight-loss medications?

Yes — I regularly support women who are currently using medically prescribed weight-loss medications.

Many women find these medicines helpful, but also notice changes in digestion, appetite, bowel habits, nutrient intake, sleep or hormones. In our consultations, we gently support gut health, mineral balance, nervous-system regulation and long-term nourishment, so your body has what it needs while you continue under the care of your prescribing doctor.

There is never any judgement about your choices — my role is to walk alongside you with compassionate, holistic care.

Do you help with post-viral fatigue or long-term exhaustion after illness or immune stress?

Yes — I commonly support women experiencing ongoing fatigue, nervous-system sensitivity, poor sleep, hormonal shifts or digestive changes following illness or immune-related stress.

Rather than pushing the body, we focus on calm, restorative support — allowing the nervous system, immune system and energy pathways to gradually recover. Where appropriate, I work collaboratively with your GP or specialist to ensure you are well supported.

Ready to feel more supported in your health?

If you’re experiencing hormonal changes, stress, fatigue, anxiety, or simply don’t feel like yourself or being told that everything is 'normal', you’re welcome to book an appointment — either in-clinic or online. At Katrina Froome Naturopathy, I'll take the time to understand what’s happening in your body and move forward gently, at your pace.
